Academic goals:
Here at South Bank University my main goal is to achieve a BEng (Hons) Computer systems and networks degree. I have been fascinated by computers since my childhood and always wanted to become a professional in this field. The overwhelming need to understanding computer programing languages have driven my enthusiasm for all things computer systems.
Since joining London South Bank University I have had an opportunity to experience a full range of courses and some of the best computer laboratory facilities and this has reinforced and soldified my interest in computer systems. I have particulary developed a very strong interest in designing computer networks using some of the best freely software such as GNS3 and Packet tracer. My main ambition here at the university is to:
- Gain the necessary skills and knowledge to become a better computer network design professional.
- I would also like to develop my skills and ability to tackle technical issues in computer networking area.
- Develop my communication skills
- Develop ability to tackle some of the most challenging technical issues in ICT
- Develop my ability to be able to analyse complex issues and come up with solutions
Social goals:
I would like to use my time here at the university wisely, study hard, enjoy the experience and above all form a network of potentially long term friends. This being my final year as an undergraduate student, I am looking forward for the group projects where I will have a chance to work with others. As we are all about to enter the field of work, the experience of working in groups to complete a task will be of a great advantage.
Future goals:
On completion of my BEng third year, I would like to continue into the fourth year pursuing an MEng Computer systems and networks. My aim is to graduate when I am fully chartered. Earning an MEng will be of a great advantage as I plan to work in Africa where networking technology is currently taking off at a rapid pace. I also believe that, studying at Southbank in the centre of London a great city of technology will give me that competitive edge and confidence that I need to thrive.
