ABOUT ME

John Bosco Sekyewa is a third year                              student pursuing a BEng computer                                systems and network engineering                                  program at London South Bank                                    University. He started this course                                  in September 2013 and it is due to

                             end in 2016.

He was born and raised in Kampala, the capital city of Uganda. Prior to joining London South Bank University, John spent three years at Shell Uganda ltd retail operations division, working as retail station manager overseeing retail operations. He was also in charge of training newly recruited staff for the company run stations.

John completed his secondary and college education in Kampala. Since his childhood John has been a technology enthusiast with an aspiration of becoming a Systems Engineer. He has always had a keen interest in electronics particulary computers.

After completing his secondary education John wanted to join a University and pursue a course in computer systems. However coming from such deprived back ground in Uganda, he could not afford to do so. John joined a local electronic mechanic store where he worked hard, learning how to fix radios and TVs.

After three years of training John found an opportunity to join Shell Uganda ltd apprenticeship sheme in a local newspaper. After applying for it, he was accepted on the program and due to his incredible work ability he was first tracked into station management and training of newly recruited staff. After securing a job John started saving money for his further studies.

At the age of 26, John moved to London to join his grandmother. His aim was to find a good college and pursue his childhood dream, a course in computer systems.  Since then John enrolled in a local college in London where he did an advanced diploma in computer systems. In September 2013, he enrolled at London Southbank University to pursue a BEng (Hons) Computer Systems and Networks degree.

John’s ambition is to obtain a BEng (Hons) degree in computer systems and networks and also to gain enough skills from the University and eventually find a good job in networking industry. Looking forward, John aims to pursue an MEng computer systems and network program with a dream of becoming a chartered engineer one day.

In his free time john enjoys practicing network designs using different animation software in order to enhance his skills.
